Qatar Aviation Oryx lounge at Doha airport – Fail

I’m amazed how this lounge is a waste of money! I’m sorry to be so honest but I’m afraid this no other way. You will be charged $200 for dozens of normal boring sitting chairs and about eight sleeping chairs. The breakfast here is terrible and only consist of dry bread, pastry, jam and honey and not to mention Pepsi, 7up and coffee and tea.
For $200 one should at least have a decent breakfast option or something else that is this money’s worth! There is absolutely no value for money here. There are a lot of places to sit here but apparently after being told by a waiter (who is not waiting tables by the way) that I’m not allowed to put my feet up on a chair even though I took my shoes off beforehand!

What is the meaning of Building a lounge in an airport where you would normally want to rest or have meetings and then you’re not allowed to put up your feet?!!! I’m very annoyed that I paid for this “service” to sit in a lounge and eat unhealthy foods!
I almost feel like they would say: sir please come on in and sit on this uncomfortable chair and pay $200, eat unhealthy pastry and maybe a soda yes we think that’s a reasonable price for something that normally costs 2$ on any street corner around the world!”

To top it all off the Internet is way slow! And if you want to charge your phone or computer then you need a special plug!! Come on this is an airport and I payed for this lounge – are your manager so cheap that they have not installed adapters for the thousand of travelers that daily visits this otherwise rich city of gas and oil!! Doha is really behind when it comes to luxury… 10 years from now they might get there.

The only positive thing I have to say is that it’s less noisy than the main airport but people are still talking so its not quiet at all.

I do not recommend that you ever set foot here again unless its free…

Ps. They also have toilets but they are no different to other toilets! Oh how I regret spending this money for something I thought would be a bit of luxury – but it was not!

It is Sad to see a concept like this have the potential of working but in the end failing totally within the concept and the design just falls apart due to bad maintenance! I could point out many things that with low cost could make this standard lounge feel like luxury!
